Town hall meeting to discuss City’s proposed budget cuts

The City is proposing to make budget cuts that could affect our school and the surrounding community.  Among the many proposed budget cuts are cuts to funding for Davisville Public School’s Student Nutrition Program, eliminating programming at the nearby Brown Community Centre, reducing programming at the Central Eglinton Community Centre, and reducing hours at the Deer Park, Northern District, and Forest Hill Public Libraries.

There is a chance to have a say. Our local councilor, Josh Matlow, and area trustee, Shelley Laskin, will be holding a community town hall meeting to discuss these potential cuts and ideas for moving forward.  The meeting will be January 11, 2012, 7:00pm at the North Toronto Memorial Community Centre. There will also be a town hall meeting on December 13, 7pm, at Hillcrest Community School, 44 Hilton Avenue, for Ward 21.
