Government Research on Childhood Obesity – Your Opportunity for Input
As part of the work of the Ontario Healthy Kids Panel to provide
recommendations to the government about how to reduce childhood obesity by
20 per cent in five years, the Panel is reaching out to better understand
parents’ and caregivers’ knowledge and perceptions about raising healthy
kids and childhood obesity. Here is a link to the Ministry webpage that
contains more information on the Panel and its membership
The Panel is interested in hearing from Ontarians with any children under
the age of 18 in their care. To do so, they are running a few focus groups
in Sudbury and Toronto and have created an online survey that asks questions
about the issue including the reasons for childhood obesity, the barriers
for parents and caregivers to raising healthy children, and the ways to help
children maintain healthy weights.
The survey is confidential and participation is voluntary. The survey should
take approximately 15 minutes to complete and will close on Monday November
12, 2012. Thank you!
