Spring clean your home and help Davisville PS and the environment!

This long weekend is a great time to clean out old clothes and other stuff from your closets. And Davisville will help you get rid of it all!

Davisville’s Eco club and the school council are teaming up for TWO clothing drives for Earth Week in April:

  • Bag2School
  • Children’s clothing Rummage Sale

Bag2School: If you’re looking a way to get rid of old blankets, pillows, stuffed animals, we’re hosting a Bag2school drive at Davisville public school with our eco club, between April 13th and April 21st. You can donate old blankets, pillows, all those stuffed animals that you can’t give away, worn out jackets, even bags and shoes… they will collect it from us, weigh it and pay us by the pound. They will then resell the old clothes and recycle the worn out stuff as furniture stuffing- keeps it out of the landfill, gets it out of your basement and supports our school. How to do it:

  • April 7th-10th blue bags will go home with each student. You can collect donations in these bags or any clear blue recycling bag. You can also use other bags as long as the donations is clearly marked “Bag2School”

  • April 13-21. Drop off donations at Davisville public school inside the main entrance during school hours (8-4) We will be collecting all donations in room A3, on the main floor.

Children’s clothing rummage sale: Along with the Bag2School drive, as part of Earth week, we will be hosting a rummage sale of children’s clothing. You can drop off outgrown, gently used or new children’s clothing sizes infant to size 16 at the same time you drop off your Bag2School items.

Notes:

  • Bag2School donations should be in a BLUE BAG or clearly labelled “Bag2School”

  • Rummage Sale donations should be in a clear or black garbage bag or box, anything but a blue bag. To make it easier for the volunteers, you could label the bog with the contents, for example “girl, size 2”

  • Anything not sold at the Rummage sale will be kept for “Mud Clothes” for kids to borrow, in the parent room, or added to the Bag 2 School donations.
