End of year message to Davisville families from School Council
End of year message to Davisville families from the Davisville School Council Interim Chair:
Dear Davisville Families,
As our school year draws to a close, we would like to take this opportunity to celebrate our Davisville Dragons ability to evolve, problem solve and innovate throughout the year.
First and foremost, a very special thank you to all the volunteers who made this year a success. Our 2018-2019 chapter at Vaughan Road is unique – and with the support of volunteers, we were able to ensure that our children’s school year experience was a successful one.
We have a lot to celebrate: from the snack program to pizza lunch, exciting silent auctions, delicious bake sales, get-togethers like skate night and games night, a successful eco week (was there ever any question about our eco warriors?)… and when Mother Nature brought us inclement weather on June 1st, we took the Fun Fair indoors for a fun-filled day!
Davisville families united when buses were cancelled – parents coordinated, car pooled and supported each other. When the eco team asked for book donations, families donated through an intricate donation system maximizing the bus stop communities that were formed this year.
When the Raptors needed that extra boost of energy for Game 6, the Davisville Dragons chanted “Let’s Go Raptors” in the cafeteria – hours before the Toronto Raptors made history. Coincidence, I think not.
And last but not least, a thank you to the administration, educators, and staff members who walk 10,000 steps every day to ensure our kids are in a safe, nurturing environment.
Wishing everyone an incredible summer!
