What We Do
Information for all – new and returning – Davisville Parents
On behalf of the School Council, welcome to Davisville P. S. – a wonderful school and a caring community!
There are several ways to become involved in our community: attend School Council meetings, volunteer at our fundraisers, and volunteer in your child’s class.
School Council Meetings
School Council meetings are a great way to stay informed and connected to the school community. The School Council is the link between parents and the staff. All parents are invited to attend our monthly meetings. The meetings are held in the evenings, and free childcare is provided. At the meetings, the Principal also updates us on what is happening at our school and tells us what we, as parents, can do to help. It is also a venue to meet other parents, air any concerns you have, and share ideas on how to make our school a better place. We love and welcome as much participation as possible. If you are unable to come to one meeting, please come to another. You do not have to be at all of them.
At our first School Council meeting of the year, we hold elections for the voting positions. If you would like to be on the School Council as a voting member, please fill out the nomination form distributed at the beginning of the year. Even if you are not interested in becoming a voting member, please still consider attending our meeting, since everyone has a voice in our community and everyone is welcome.

Our fundraising program enables us to provide the best educational opportunities for our children. This money is used by the teachers to buy additional supplies for their class, for enrichment programs, for the extra curricular programs, and generally enhancing our children’s education. In order to raise all the money needed, we hold a variety of fundraising events throughout the year. Please support with your time and money, where and how you choose. The more support and participation we have, the greater success our events and school will be! For more information, please visit the Fundraising page.
There are many ways to help your child’s school by volunteering. Many volunteer options take very little time and all of our wonderful volunteers make our school community better.
